Speaking of marriages...
January 25th 2010 07:52
I picked up a MX today. Those who don't know, it's a free daily newspaper pretty much repeating the news that is reported in the major newspapers and sources.
Pretty useless actually but I pick one up for the train ride home anyway.
So... an article caught my eye regarding marriage. Apparently, women over 30 should consider settle for either Mr Second Best or Mr Right Now, otherwise they'll end up very lonely.
"Single women who continue their search for Mr Right after the age of 30 are consigning themselves to a lonely future..." the artle reported, and it all started with the publicaton of Marry Him: The Case for Settling for Mr Good Enough in the UK by Lori Gottlieb, a book first published in the US in 2008.
And here is a bit about the book, as written by Lori herself: Marry Him!
Hmm.. I can see all the feminist groups jumping up and down at this statement. "Women do not need a partner to be happy" they'll say.
Reminds me of something my mum used to say to me: "If you don't marry now, you'll end up lonely. You must find yourself a husband before you are 30."
Just as well. I am getting married this year. As I just turn 30.

It's only needy people who feel the need to make others feel guilty for their decisions. Being single is not a disease!
