Scandals!

Would you be interested to know that I've cheated on 2 boyfriends and have got too drunk in a nightclub that I ended up pashing someone of the opposite sex who was actually gay? Would anyone pay me for the story?
Well, no. Because you don't know me, and it's something that even you might have done.
Then why are we so facinated by the sex scandals that have nothing to do with us? Why is it that everytime someone mildly famous appear in yet another nude shot and cheated on their husbands/wives that we all want to know about it?
What is the big deal? And how does anything have to do with their professions?
So Tiger Woods was being a man-whore and have cheated on his wife a few million times. Well, all other men do it, and just because he has the money and can afford to 'support' all these women, and the fact that yes he is a bit of a d!ck, doesn't mean he is no longer a good golfer.
So another politician got catch with their pants down. The most famous one is of Bill Clinton, and everyone is still (even now in 2010) talking about it from time to time - he was a good president, and has done a lot of good. Sex with Monica doesn't change him as a politician, and doesn't change his policies.
"Ooo... there goes his career." is a common saying after any discovery of a sex scandal. I mean, really?
Yes, these people are in the spot-light, and there is no hiding from the public. Fine. If you must report it - then report it. And then you get on with the more important stuff. There is no point speculating whether this person is going to sell their story, or is going to sue, or is going to say sorry. Who cares? It's not like you are getting any cent from it.
