Are we ready for robot love?

I am sure we all have watched the 2001 movie AI - or at least have heard of it.
The idea of having robot children to replace a lost one, or a missing one was rather unimaginable to me. Technically yes, but realistically no.

But if the technology is there, I guess why not?
