Apparently - she misses me.

May 8th 2008 07:46
Let's talk about pets. I've had my cat since she was 3 weeks old. Tiny little thing abandoned by her stray mother in a factory corner. She was only the size of our fist then, now she is a moody big 3 year old that hogs half of the bed and won't let me have my blankets back.

I am on a business trip for two weeks, and it seems, she misses me. She is being cared for by my parents and she is ignoring them. Normally still quite playful when given the rubber band, she won't even do that anymore. She waits outside my bedroom door until someone opens it to show her that I am not there, then she goes to her corner where her towels are to sulk in her misery.

It's nice to know your pet misses you. After all - I almost can be a surrogate mother: I fed her from a bottle for two weeks because she wasn't even weened when we found her.

People have pets for many reasons, but we all love our pets just the same. She is family, and I even talk to her. They say when you start talking to your pet, it means you love her like you would love you parents and your siblings.

And how nice to know she misses me And people say cats have no feelings. Hah!

After I moved away from my parents, my mom used to tell me that our family dog would sit outside my bedroom door and whine.

Pets are wonderful and these stories delightful, that little cat owes you her life and she knows it, she has for you that extra attachment. Don't take any notice of people who do not love cats, more do than don't, they are more independent than dogs.

I love dogs too. I was pleased to see a dog lover respond, too.

hi Garrett - it is the best feeling in the world! And yes, I think animals, whether dogs or cats - do have feelings for their owners Thanks for dropping by

Katyzzz - I think cats are misunderstood. I love them both (cats and dogs) like you but I know at the moment having a cat a lot easier on my lifestyle. They really are very understanding animals and should never be underestimated for their loyalty as well. Thanks for your comment

Aw, she is gorgeous, Amy. It sounds like she's missing you a lot.

Animals are wonderful,

Hi Tracy - I know - doesn't her tummy fluff just want to make you blow raspberries on it?

It does! Fergal (our dog) sleeps like that, with his legs in the air. In fact, he's the same colour scheme as your little bundle of fluff, black and white. They would match if they were together

Haha imagine that! A matching dog and cat -- aww that would be so cute! (Before they kill each other)

Awwwww...I'm not even a cat person but this melted my icy heart:

She waits outside my bedroom door until someone opens it to show her that I am not there.

Poor kitty.

my cat gives my parents hell whenever im away, i think its because im the disciplinarian and my parents are push-overs . . . she stays out all night partying with the neighbourhood cats and starts climbing the curtains and being a smart alec answering back and what not haha

The black and white duo would make a great pair

Hi Ruby - I know! I wish I could go home right now!

Morgan - yeah I think she probably knows that while you are away she can be whatever pain she wants to be - probably an act to show that she actually misses you!

Tracy - I can just imagine

I would love to have a cat, so I'm living vicariously through other people with them...
What a cute kitty!

Hi postmoderncritic - they are beautiful creatures (same as dogs, as I said, I do love them too )
Thank you! I am sure Kitty is happy to know that others think she is cute as well (she is very self-indulged in knowing she is cute )

Hi Amy

awww that`s so cute! I miss having pets but I don`t have the time to look after them properly.

I like cats, love their independence and I-don`t-care attitudes!

Hi Ash - Yes, time is always a major factor when considering having pets... and one reason I chose a cat over a dog - they really are independent!
