Paint shopping
June 27th 2009 13:04
Oh, as of this past Wednesday I am officially a home owner
The settlement took place at 13:40hours however I unfortunately couldn't be present coz I was stuck at work.
The real estate sent me flowers to congratulate me. That was a little nice guesture.
So to 'celebrate' the moment we went paint shopping.
The current condition of the place isn't bad. But it's all white, as most old units are. The bathroom is a little outdated and the walls and the doors need a bit of repainting. So we decided why not add a little colour?
I've been really wanting all these really cool colours on our walls, each wall a different colour, sort of like this 'retro' atmosphere - but Will, the ever so sensible one, knows that after a week or two living in that sort of colour we'll probably get sick of it, so we decided to go with this 'feature' wall idea. Like having most of our walls still in a pale cream colour, but have ONE wall of each room in a brighter colour like blue, green and purple.
So we went to Bunnings and had a lot of fun playing jjgsaw puzzle with those colour cardboard thingys!
So. We've decided the lounge area is going to be an Olive green room, because it's a comfortable colour to look at overall. The study is going to have a deep blue feature colour because it'll represent the 'sea' as I am going to put up one of those really large world maps as wall paper (yes, the ones you see in Flight Centre stores!) and our bedroom is going to be this colour called 'hibiscus' it's sort of in between red/pink/purple ish colour.
We bought the paints, now we just have to wait for the tenants to move out so we can go in and repaint it all!!
Now I am getting excited hehe.
