With Valentine's Day over...

I thought I'd do a little reflection..
Actually.. no there isn't going to be much reflection at all coz we spent the day celebrating chinese new years with my mum instead.
Although throughout the years I've never really been a great fan of these Valentine's Days, mother's days, father's days, love-thy-neighbours days etc. I feel that it's just another day when commercialism can take over and make millions out of people who want to be especially nice to their lovers/mothers/fathers so that the rest of the year they can rightfully neglect them.
Don't know about you but on the receiving end of the equation I'd rather that I am appreciated on normal days and on a more regular frequency than just one day a year, and I prefer maybe getting a little more help around the house or getting a little bit more cuddles rather than getting a $50-a-stem rose or a $500 diamond ring.
Luckily, I do get pampered every other day with my husband to be ever so helpful around the house making sure both me and my cat are fed everyday and that I am up on time for work, so celebrating chinese new years with mum (which comes with more tradition and meaning than Valentine's Day) was a lot more fun
