I am sorry I have been neglecting you guys!

I've just noticed after signing in today that it's been at least 7 days since my last post in any of my blogs. Trust me, I didn't mean to neglect you guys, however over the last weekend I've just completed a major transformation of having the last day of my last job to driving up from Sydney to my new Coffs Harbour home to starting my new job on the Monday (after flying down to Sydney on the Monday morning to start a three days training) then flying back up yesterday night to start my retail job today. It's all been a whirl wind and I am feeling extremely disoriented.
And of course, having left my last IT related job meant that I lost my laptop that was supplied by work as well as a job where I am regularly sitting in front of the computer. Well, in the retail Flight Centre job I do sit in front of the computer, but having to face clients and type up quotes and answer the phone and dealing with a photocopier that doesn't work half of the time, I don't think I'll get much time to slack off and blog. So I will have to do my blogging at nights now.
So I start this new job. It's a little bit of a culture shock for me as having just spent 5 years in corporate, retail is completely different. Not having a desk to call my own is one thing, and the crammed kitchen/back room rest area is another. And everything need to be rostered, which means you'll never have lunch with someone else because they need to be at the desks while you go and relax for an hour.
It's all good. I can't tell if I like the job yet, but for now, I am in a heaven of my own. For the first time in my life, reading travel brochures is actually part of my job description and the amount of travel I am going to be doing is pretty cool. Well, ok when I asked the fairies if I could have a job that involved a lot of travelling, I should have been a little more specific to overseas travels, not just any travels. Coz just in June alone I am going to go back down to Sydney three times for training and next month I get to travel to Sydney again twice on business. That's a lot of short haul flights... oh wells. At least it's something
And I get to use the time to visit my folks too, which they are most pleased about.
Will is also being really great. He is recognising how much I am doing for him just so he can go to uni and complete an education, so tonight he made me a really nice Irish stew and also did the dishes afterwards. What a wonderful husband he is going to be!
So that's my update. I promise to keep an eye on the blog from now and post a little more regularly.
