Planning the move

Another move.
I am used to it, but this time, to save money and to clean up cluster, I am getting rid of stuff.
I've already painstakingly donated some of the books I've been hanging onto for so long (all read, but you know how books can be) to the local Life Line store. I've thrown out some of the second hand items that I've had for more then 4 years. We've also decided the second hand fridge and couch can also go this time, considering the fridge is leaking and the couch is starting to stink. However after all this, there still seem to be so many things to pack!
Will's already down in Sydney to prepare and start his first semester. So I am up in Coffs Harbour by myself with Kitty who is getting nervous with all these boxes packed. She knows that we are moving, having moved with me 5 times in her 4 years of lifetime. Poor little thing.
I've been thinking about buying a place. I never think about buying a place, but the other day I was browsing through the rental market in Sydney and the prices are looking very scary. I did a quick calculation based on the current interest rates and the cost of rental is almost nearly the cost of a loan repayment per month if I were to borrow $250000 for 30 years. Considering that with Will going to be staying with his current degree for the next 4 years I think it'd be worth to buy now and slowly pay it off and perhaps sell it if we do decide to move again after his degree.
Now I just have to figure it all out again how I am going to do this, and do a little research on that first home buyers grant.
I am glad my parents will be happy as they have been nagging me about buying a place for so long now. It seems to them that it's not until you own a property have you fully grown up.
So, back to packing.
