Oh that honeymoon

I get questions about honeymoons everyday. Just two days ago a guy calls the shop asking on prices for honeymoon ideas - for the end of this month - obviously left it a little too late but still, there were options for him to take.
He had no idea where he wanted to go on a honeymoon, and he wanted me to tell him - well where would you like to see, what would you like to do? I asked. It'll have to be somewhere nice I guess. He said.
He asked me: Where would YOU like to go on your honeymoon.
I answered my standard reply: I'd like to backpack around the world.
Haha he laughed. Ok, let's be a little realistic on the time frame here. He only has a week of holidays to take.
So I suggested the usual places - Cook Islands, Fiji, Bali, Phuket etc. He was keen on Cook Islands so I got him a quote. It was going to cost a total of $6000 for both of them for a week there I said. He left it too late and there weren't cheap seats left on the flights.
Why would you leave planning your honeymoon to the last minute was the question. Maybe he simply forgot.
A friend of mine who recently just got married on the other hand, is already planning the honeymoon. They are getting married next May, so I have already been looking into prices for them. She wants an Australian honeymoon and Port Douglas is sliding on top of the list. The Peppers Bale Resort looks absolutely stunning but at $1200 a night ummm maybe not. However knowing that she is already planning makes me wonder what makes someone plan so much a head of time, and some people seem to like last minute planning and then complain how much it's going to cost them?
Well, knowing that I am not getting married until 2010 I do know what I would like for my honeymoon. I would like to take half a year off and just go around the world.
