Not one to kick up a fuss about destiny and that, and i'm not going to START to rationalise the following sentences, but a very wise man, a man i have almost ultimate respect for, once said that destiny always argues itself when a solution to a problem, that you can not solve, solves itself, in a way you couldn't imagine beforehand.
Now my internet connection went last week, and the nice but technologically ignorant lady next door has not fixed. Thus, it has been very difficult for me to continue writing, something i find very important. So, it was to my shock when my internet was connected yesterday, to an 'unknown' provider. I was initially concerned i may have been hacked, but my detective skills say that this isn't the case. So i have the internet, and i dont know why.
I'm not going to complain, and this post hs taen about 30 minutes to write, a lot less than normal, but hey, it'll do. I don't know when the connection will go again, but i'm back at my Uni house from next week, so the problem will, and has resolved itself.
So anyway, let wikipedia and 'big brained' people talk about philosophy. I was just watching the Simpsons and the line, 'That's the problem about first impressions is, you only get to make one'. I won't say more on the matter as it's ALREADY BEEN DONE, so we'll presume where we left off.
Topics? The foundations of a conversation. Even on the rare occassion that you meet someone that you instantly click with, there should be instant subjects in your head that you can talk about. If you meet someone on the hoof on a night out, you need to be instantly aware of what you can take advantage of and talk about.
To carry on from where the last post on the matter left off, you're in a coffee bar, you're on a 'first date' although, it could be more of a pre-date, where if things go well, the first date can then go ahead, but nevertheless, this is the first chance to get your foot in the door so to speak. The best topics to start with are the standard. No magical words needed. Where do you come from? Brothers or Sisters? Favourite music? I thin it is important to try and initially direct the conversation to the things that you like. I like music, pornograpghy, threesomes and South Park. Most girls are only going to like the music part, so i concentrate on that.
You'll find out straight away whether there is a click or not, but even if there is not, if you want to pursue this girl/boy, then you have to keep the conversation going. That isn't to put pressure on you. A calm inside means a calm outside, and thats a great impression. The thing you ALWAYS have to remember is that the worst that could happen from here on in is that you become half-decent friends. Or arch enemies. And who doesn't want an arch enemy? NOBODY.
When you find something that the date likes to talk about, exploit it to the best of your abilites. In one instance, i found that a girl liked the White Stripes, my favourite band...ever. We talked for an hour on one subject. It was the best start to a date and it really eased the tension. Don't be afraid to make a fool of yourself, tell a funny story, an embarrassing story even, it makes the girl realise that you can laugh about yourself and not worry, it's a great way to continue.
This is just the beginning. Don't forget to pay for everything on the first date, and as we'll see, the second date also. It's important to show the girl that you are the man and are willing to take responsibily for things. The second date (or the first in many cases) should always contain alcohol. The 'alcohol' date is to be the next posted topic. Until then, good hunting.
